Remove Excess Abdominal Fat and Tighten Muscles

What is a Tummy Tuck?

A Tummy Tuck, also called an abdominoplasty, is a common plastic surgery procedure that addresses the deflated appearance of overly stretched abdominal muscles and skin as a result of weight loss or pregnancy. Through this highly effective and safe procedure, the abdominal muscles are tightened along with the removal of excess skin to create a tighter abdominal wall as well as a smaller waistline.

Full Tummy Tuck

With the Full  Tuck procedure, an incision is made along the lower abdomen hidden in the underwear line, right above the pubic area. By stitching together the abdominal muscles under the skin, Dr. Sheila Nazarian is able to create a tighter abdominal wall. Excess skin is then removed and tightened for a flatter, smoother abdomen. The Partial or Mini Tummy Tuck involves a smaller incision and less dissection.

Mini Tummy Tuck

A mini tuck is ideal for patients who only have excess skin below their belly button and not a lot of muscle separation.

Combined With Other Procedures

A tuck can be combined with other procedures as well. These include breast procedures like breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, or breast lift and augmentation. Liposuction is also commonly performed at the same time. Some will opt to have liposuction performed and use that fat to augment other areas of their body or face. Whatever your wishes are, you can discuss them freely with Dr. Nazarian and she will tell you if a combination procedure would be possible for you.

Benefits of a Tummy Tuck

  • Fat removal
  • Tighten stretched muscles
  • Eliminate loose skin
  • Remove stretch marks
  • Improve confidence

What You Should Know

Before coming in for your consultation, there are a few things you should know:

  1. A  tuck is not an alternative to weight loss and a healthy lifestyle
  2. Ideal candidates are stable in their weight and within 15 pounds of their ideal weight. If more than 15 pounds is lost after surgery, there may be some loose skin again. This may call for a revision tummy tuck.
  3. Increasing your protein intake before and after surgery will help you heal faster. Dieting immediately before or after surgery is not recommended.
  4. A minimum one-night-stay in an aftercare facility like Serenity Aftercare is mandatory for your safety and comfort. We want all of our patients to have an amazing experience after a tummy tuck procedure. Our aftercare partners are a part of making that possible.

More on Tummy Tuck

A Tummy Tuck should not be used as a weight-loss solution and rather, should only be done to rid a person of stubborn excess abdominal fat and sagging skin. In some cases of extreme weight loss, a tummy tuck procedure is medically necessary to help the person adapt to a leaner body and achieve a better quality of life. After a Tuck procedure, we encourage our patients at Nazarian Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills to continue to lead an active and healthy lifestyle for a long lasting result.

Yes, less skin will be removed than in a full, and it will only deal with the skin underneath the belly button.

You should go with a full tummy tuck because a mini will only address the skin below the belly button.

A full tummy tuck will eliminate stretch marks, and a mini will care for any stretch marks that are on your lower abdomen.

A full tuck will range between $15,000 to $25,000. However, many factors can change the cost of your surgery, such as physician and facility charges. You can get a full scope of charges at your consultation.

A mini tuck will range between $6,000 to $15,000 but will vary depending on the physician, facility, location, and other varying factors.

A full tuck will tighten and repair abdominal muscles that are above and below the belly button. If you have opted for a mini tuck, it will concentrate on the muscles below the belly button.
